How to Treat Back Spasms
Back spasms don’t typically last a long time, but when they do the pain and discomfort is very real.
There are many causes of back spasms, including but not limited to: heavy lifting, weak or stiff muscles, arthritis, or a ruptured disk in your spine.
If you find yourself regularly dealing with this ailment, don’t hesitate to experiment with several treatment options:
· Alternating ice and heat until you achieve the desired result
· The use of muscle relaxants to give your muscles time to heal
· Chiropractic care
· Regular massage by a qualified professional
Also, there are things you can do to help prevent back spasms. For example, if you’re overweight, shedding a few pounds can protect against this. Also, bad posture can increase the risk of spasms, so do your best to stand and sit up straight.
While many people assume that back spasms are something they have to deal with regularly, you don’t want to live with the pain and discomfort any longer. Find a treatment strategy that works and stick with it. Doing so will go a long way in helping you feel better.
