While it’s far from the worst ailment you can suffer, a runny nose is an annoyance that you want to eliminate from your life as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this is often easier said than done.
Rather than rely on modern medicine, here are several home remedies that can bring you the relief you’re seeking:
Saltwater rinse: Mix a teaspoon of salt with eight ounces of warm water and use a bulb syringe or a Neti pot to flush out your nasal passages.
Steam inhalation: Boil water and inhale the steam to help clear your nasal passages and relieve congestion.
Hydration: Drink plenty of fluids to help thin out mucus and make it easier to clear your nasal passages.
Humidifier: Use a humidifier in your home to add moisture to the air, which can help relieve nasal congestion.
Once you find which one of these home remedies delivers the best results, you can rely on it in the future any time you feel a runny nose coming on. In some cases, you may be able to fight back the symptoms so that your recovery period isn’t nearly as long.
