There’s nothing worse than thinking you got a good night’s sleep, just to wake up feeling tired. When this happens, you’ll find it difficult to drag yourself out of bed and start your day.
Rather than let this turn into a regular issue, you should pinpoint the culprit and take action. This will go a long way in ensuring that you feel energized in the morning.
Here are some of the most common reasons for waking up tired:
• You slept too long: Believe it or not, sleeping too long can actually make you feel tired when you finally decide to roll out of bed. So, if you usually get eight hours of sleep and go for 11 on the weekend, it may work against you.
• Medication: For example, if you rely on sleep aids or take any medication that can make you drowsy, you may wake up feeling tired. Consider alternatives.
• Sleep disorder: You think you’re sleeping well, but a disorder – such as sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome – could be keeping you up at night.
Don’t continue to wake up tired and hope that things get better without intervention. Instead, take action to pinpoint the problem and find a solution. This will help you get a good night’s sleep.
